Get this shoe! I am in retail and am on my feet for at least 8 hours a day in a 4000 sq ft very busy store. Plus a hefty walking commute due to lack of parking. I used to end my day with my feet up and my legs and lower back in pain. I have worn Dansko for many years but they are just not as soft or squishy as I need any more. The shoe fits true to size, it’s a little wide through the toe but I like that and the adjustable strap is great. The pewter wrinkle has a little pink or copper hue to it. Love it! I also had an awesome customer service experience with Zappos.

After weeks of shopping for that perfect everyday shoes to wear to my job as a teacher, I nearly cried when I slipped on these shoes and felt sheer heaven. I have multiple foot problems: two different size feet, wide, high arch/instep, developing bunions, bony knots. Finding shoes to wear to work has been nearly impossible. These shoes feel like walking on firm pillows. The genius of them is that they cause your feet to tilt so that the pressure is completely removed from the ball of the foot (the painful area for me.) walking in these shoes feels better than being barefoot.

I have the Alegria Bell in the Blue Metallc Floral pattern, and people actually run after me to ask where I got the shoes. I’ve never received so many complements on a shoe!.
I have wide feet with a normal arch and a tendency to under pronate (fall off the outer sides of my shoes) and these are the most attractive and comfortable shoes that I’ve had for a long time by a very wide margin. The only shoes comfier are my sneakers.
Note that Alegria footbeds are not all the same width. Of the Mary Jane styles I tried, Belle came with the widest footbed – D width. Paloma was a C width and the Dayna Professional was a B width and two out of the three footbeds were actually marked as such. The Tuscany sandal is also a B width. I wish either Zappos or the company would clearly state these differences.
Belle’s almost regular shoe profile of Alegria’s lower “mini-rocker” platform and its padded heel also make it my favorite Alegria Mary Jane. I just wish there were more color/pattern options!

For a trip to China I was trying to take only one suitcase, which meant only one pair of shoes! What’s a girl to do? I ordered about five different pairs of shoes from Zappos so that I could hopefully end up with one to take. This shoe, Belle by Alegria won hands down! I wore it all the way to China, everyday in China and I still haven’t taken them off my feet! They are Euro sized, so I thought that my Birkenstock size would be the size I need. I wear a 38 in Birkenstock. But, for this shoe I needed a 37. The Belle toe box is plenty roomy…so much so that I felt like I would trip when I had the 38 on. I went with a 37. Perfect right out of the box. Belle has a double velcro strap for securing the shoe on your foot. The strap opens on the left and the right side of the foot. You can adjust either way if your feet have swollen a bit, or tighten them if you feel the need for more security on your foot. I hiked on the Great Wall with Belle and no socks! In fact, I didn’t wear socks at all on my trip. The shoes were plenty comfortable with socks, it was just so hot while I was in China that I didn’t want anything extra on me! I took Belle on numerous walking tours around the city of Beijing. Because I got black, the shoes matched with everything that I wore on the trip…from jeans to skirts. LOTS of skirts! I’m not sure the total hours on my feet while in China, but if I was standing, I had these shoes on. I NEVER had tired feet! NEVER got any blisters. The only bad thing that happened was that somewhere in the press of people and sight seeing I lost one of the little silver button embellishments on the velcro strap on the left shoe. Even though these shoes are more about comfort than cuteness, I did get a few compliments on my cute shoes! I totally recommend these shoes for any walking touristy things you might be planning. I am wearing them at this minute with socks because the weather here at home has turned chilly.

I now have 2 pair of Professional Dayna’s and one pair of Belle in the dusty blue. I have wide feet from wearing Birkenstock’s for over 30 years. The Belle shoe is definitely wider and longer thant the Dayna and is incredibly comfortable. I wear a 7 to 7 1/2 wide shoe, and the 38 fit me loosely, but can be tightened with the velcro strap. I would rather have my shoes too big than too small. The Dayna has a slightly thicker foot bed, and is not as wide or long as the Belle. However, they are also extremely comfortable and I love them. I have th Dayna black Dottie and the Dayna patent chrome. They are both lovely. I just ordered the Belle in the black crinkle patent and can’t wait to receive them. Zappos’s is the best. I also have the classic clog, but feel the clog is way to narrow for my wide feet. They have stretched a little since I bought them, but are not anywhere near as comfortable as the Belle or the Dayna. I compared the removable foot bed between the Dayna and the Belle, and the footbed for the Dayna is wider than the Belle. However the toe box for the Belle is wider and the shoe is longer in length than the Belle. The shipping is awesome, and the return policy is quick and easy. I hope my review will help those of you who need a little more information. I am now an Alegria convert. I am very very picky and critical about what shoes I wear. I am also a nurse who is on her feet for substantial amounts of time. Good fitting shoes is a must.

I have been wearing the Palomas but the Velcro always catches my nylons, the Belle does not have that engineering problem, no more ruined hose. I will be buying the other colors soon. Thanks, Alegria.

Ugh, I cannot give it a good review unfortunately because the pretty pewter metallic is peeling off the shoes after being worn the very first day. I wore them to work, in good weather, and sat mostly at my work desk! I looked down the the color is wrinkling off just like foil. The lifting is happening in three places with one spot larger than a quarter. I am truly shocked that no one has brought this up. I suspect the metallics might be the only shoe with this problem. I really hope I get a refund because I just bought this shoe and it looks ridiculous now. Darn!

I love these shoes! They are great! I have a wide flat foot, bunions, and hammertoes with a narrow heel. This particular style is wide enough to accommodate my bunions but, because of the strap across the front, it keeps them snug on my narrow ankles. They do seem to run slightly large. I normally wear a 10. Originally, I ordered size 40 which fit perfectly except my toes went all the way to the end. I returned them and ordered 41, which is 10-10 1/2. They are slightly large but, with socks, they are good. Alegria Paloma in a 41 is better fit for my foot but I do love the Belle in Navy Sand Dollar.

Zappos is the greatest! After our collie puppy, Tess, chewed up this pair of shoes, I called Zappos and told them the story — thinking I’d buy another pair — when the person I spoke with said they would sent another pair free. This is service beyond excellent! Thanks!

I’ve just returned from a 2 week trip to Italy where I walked on ankle-breaking cobblestones the entire time. These shoes were excellent. At the end of each day, I expected to have tired feet but it never happened. I took another pair of shoes (Noats) in case this shoe would not work as have never worn this brand before but never needed. The toe box is excellent. It looks wide but fits very well. I would recommend this shoe to anyone who will be doing a lot of walking or standing. Great shoe!

I love my Alegrias (all four pairs). As with the others I have, these are a bit larger than the stated size (I normally wear a 37 in most other brands of shoes but wear a 36 in Alegrias). These Belles feel a little lighter on my feet than the Palomas but have the same wide toebox and great arch support. The only issue I have with Alegrias is their tendency to develop a squeak as you walk; this has happened with two of my four pairs of these shoes. Special thanks to other reviewers who suggested that if your Alegrias develop a squeak you should remove the insoles and then wipe silicone spray lubricant (from home improvement or auto supply stores) on the bottom and sides of the insoles and around the bottom and sides of the shoe liner. The squeaks were completely resolved!

I have bunions on both feet (more on the top that the side) and flat arches, the right foot is flatter than the left and arthritis in the big toe of my right foot. I recently discovered that rocker souled shoes are best for arthritis in the big toe so these shoes allow me to walk with no pain. However, there was a short 1 day break in period for the shoe to fit comfortable over the bunion. These are now the perfect walking shoes. I did add my own arch supports. I wear a size 8 so I ordered the 38 but they were to small so I ordered the 39, they are a little loose but sometimes my feet swell by the end of the day.

What happened? I’ve been wearing the Belle style for a few years now, but the last few pairs I’ve tried are NARROW, even with the wide insole. The top of the shoe is more closed and round than it used to be, and very restrictive. If you were using these because you liked the roomy toe box, you’re going to be disappointed.

Put them on immediately to determine how they would feel and ended up wearing them all day — so comfortable even though my feet had suffered from chemo — and I can wear them with jeans or a dress! Not inexpensive but worth it!

Love love love Alegria shoes!
These are a cute alternative to my go to Palomas for spring!

I had bought a pair of these some time ago, but only recently started wearing them a ton. they are super comfy and kind of goofy/cute. I realized I wanted more alegrias and have tried the clog and paloma version, too. But these belles are may favorite. I hope they will continue with them and have more fun colors. (I like the sparkly ones). they are great for traveling because they are very light and easy to slip on and off and you can walk a lot in them.

It was between the Bella and the Paloma. I have haliux limitus and it hurts to bend my big toe. I chose the Paloma because the sole was slightly stiffer and the rocker bottom more pronounced. I’m a stylish 49 yrs old and when you have my condition, it’s near impossible to find cute and comfortable shoes. The look was good for what it is. I liked the slim profile of the Belle and I ordered the most “grown up” pattern in black. It was pretty cute and it was comfortable. As a general observation, I just don’t know why Alegria insists on dressing grown women in silly colors and patterns with large buttons like we are children. What’s wrong with a nice leather in tan, basic black or patent, nude, etc?

They were very comfortable, but I looked like I had clown shoes on-the style did not match my petite feet. Sad too, because they seem like a great shoe.

This is my favorite shoe and I have several pairs of Alegria Belles, as well as a couple of other styles. My very first pair was similar to these but they fell apart on me: the sole came apart from the body. But I had gotten my money’s worth, so I’m back for more. I love all the questions and compliments I get when wearing them!

I thought these were super cute, albeit a bit square-toed, but the sizing is just a little off. I felt like my toes were digging in to the toe box. They did feel nice walking around in my house, but I couldn’t wear them long term.
Karly –
These shoes were incredibly comfortable to put on but run VERY small. Really needed them this week, ordered a 9 (which I am normally true to size, have a narrow flat type foot so never have any width issues) and am going to reorder in a 10 to make sure I have enough room. Toes crammed in both shoes.

Too cute! I had compliments the first day! Feels a bit wide but not uncomfortably so.

I have never worn shoes that were this comfortable. I can’t remember what prompted me to explore this brand, but I can’t wait to try other style. The insole is so supportive.

These shoes fit perfectly! They are really cute too. I have a very high arch and I had to work at getting them on, but once I figured out exactly how, no problem. So do not let that stop you. I mention it so you will be aware. But they are darling and you won’t be sorry. PS. I am not Charles. He bought them as a gift for me. Great husband!

Super cute shoe with excellent support. So well made.
